After a pretty exhausting first day (21st July) with trying to get the kids to stay awake until a reasonable time to put them to bed, we got up this morning to a full day of visiting Singapore. (We still managed to get a family selfie in the pool of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, the world’s highest and largest rooftop pool).
Our guide Tham met 2 very motivated parents and 4 still tired looking kids in the lobby. First up was the National Orchid Garden...damn, I hate orchids, but she made us take pictures in front of every single one of them, and there are a few thousands different kinds!!!!! Ok, maybe not in front of every single orchid, however my phone is full of orchids’ pictures.
We continued on to Little India, tried some local food, walked the Arab Street until we had some chinese food for lunch and a turkish ice cream as dessert.
We then boarded a Singapore river cruise boat which brought us close to our hotel, the Marina Bay Sands and gave us some nice picture opportunities.
Leoni finally got to see the Merlion, Singapore’s national icon, half-fish and half-lion.
