The waterfalls are formed by glaciers, volcanism, and land uplift. Dettifoss is the most powerful waterfall in terms of both drop height and water volume.

The Godafoss is a sight to behold.

....and the Gulffoss was supposed to be harnessed for hydroelectric power, but his daughter Sigridur prevented that by threatening to take her own life if her father Brattholt went through with it.

For me, the most beautiful one is Hengifoss, with its basalt columns shaped by lava and red clay inclusions.

The Myvatn Lake, or Midge Lake especially in summer, is volcanically formed. With its moderate water temperatures, it is a blessing for nature and humans alike.

Thanks to the midnight sun, and the fact that Icelanders do not have artificial daylight saving time, there is plenty of time for excursions to observe, for example, whales, curious reindeer, or playful arctic foxes.

The Icelandic nature is breathtaking, as it is the land of contrasts.

Barren highlands, moss-covered lava fields, glaciers, volcanoes, and deep fjords.

In this spirit, Takk fyrir að koma við und Bless, see you next time (•¿~)

(thank you for stopping by and goodbye until next time:-))
