Tag 2: A Day in the Air...

Today's day began at the Doha airport. To pass the waiting time, and since airplane food never fills our children, we had burgers.
At 2:45 AM, our flight to Jakarta took off. During the takeoff, we had a beautiful view of the illuminated city center of Doha.

Even though it was technically a day flight, we slept through most of it. After all, we were missing the night.

Unfortunately, it was overcast and quite hazy upon landing in Jakarta, so we couldn't see much.

Since we had to go through immigration and customs upon arrival in Jakarta, we also had to collect our luggage. It took quite a while, while the entry process with the pre-obtained e-visa was straightforward, allowing us to skip the long queue at the counter.

After we had completed all the entry procedures, we checked in our luggage again. We spent the time until the flight to Yogyakarta with the obligatory food search for the children.

The connecting flight to Yogyakarta was delayed by 15 minutes.
This last flight lasted only 1 hour.
After we collected our luggage - all three bags made it on all three flights - we were greeted by our guide Ahadi from GoVacation Indonesia. He will accompany us for the next few days here.

The distance from the airport to the hotel was only 60 km, but it took about an hour. The drive was quite adventurous, and we were glad we didn't have to drive ourselves. There are a lot of motorcycles on the road, along with horse-drawn carriages.

Our hotel is located relatively centrally in the city center. Tomorrow we will explore the surroundings.

After being on the road for more than 24 hours, we fell into bed dead tired.
