Day 15: On the Way to the Gilis

Today, the alarm clock didn't ring quite as early for a change. We were picked up at 9:30 AM. We walked to the beach and boarded a small boat. My question about whether it was a glass-bottom boat as described was confirmed, and a small (alibi) glass section at the bottom was uncovered. Okay.

We visited four different snorkeling spots around the small islands of Gili Meno and Gili Air by boat. At two of these spots, there were plenty of other snorkelers - at Turtle Point and in front of Gili Meno at the underwater statues. The other two locations were significantly quieter, allowing us to calmly observe the underwater world. In addition to some turtles, there were also plenty of corals and colorful fish.

For lunch, we docked at Gili Air and ate at a small restaurant by the beach.

Then we took the boat back. Since the wind had picked up a bit, we were rocked quite a bit in our little nut shell.

By around 3 PM we were back at the hotel. With nothing else on the agenda for the rest of the afternoon, we walked around the small island - 7.5 km.

After that, we had a cocktail at the pool bar.

In search of something for dinner, we walked along the beach promenade to the port again in the evening.
