The next stop was at von Trapp Brewing, the brewery of the family known from 'The Sound of Music'. Except for the American decor, everything here was authentically Austrian, from the beer to the food. I wanted to eat something here and Jim wanted to show me that there are also good lager beers in Vermont. After an hour of waiting, I dipped a (not so bad) pretzel in mustard, honey mustard, and cheese-helles dip for the first time here. From the beer hall, you had a beautiful view of the snow-covered mountains, from which many people start their ski tours.
Helles 4.9%
Surprisingly successful helles. Comes very close to the original.
Vienna 5.2%
A very successful export. In Austria, it would be called Märzen, but in my opinion, it was too light for a German Märzen.
Pilsner 5.4%
Very refreshing and delicious Bavarian Pilsner.
Dunkel 5.7%
Tastes like the dark beer of an average brewery. Nothing special, but not bad either.
Trösten 6.0%
Dark smoked beer, very interesting but not something I would repeat.
