Day 2 Travel Day
Day two, second post, so my dears, Tomi and I have now made it onto the last of our three flights. I'm writing these lines right now; we would have been flying from Beijing to...

New day, new update
So, we landed at Tokyo Haneda after 17 hours. The entry was quite straightforward, and we got through super quickly. With the visa sticker in hand, we took a taxi to our hotel located in Akihabara. It was tucked away in a narrow one-way street between sake bars and fast food stalls, right next to an elevated train line. So, we immediately experienced the pure Tokyo experience. The slightly shady-looking hotelier, with a receding hairline and an incredibly worn-out Adidas tracksuit, handed us a keyring in broken English that screamed vintage. By the way, the room also had that vibe XD

The next day: We woke up around 7 due to jet lag. Today's plan included a trip to Ueno Park. The park is said to be famous for its cherry blossom trees, but we didn't really notice them. We were likely still too early. At the end of this extremely cherry blossom-less park was the National Museum, which turned out to be quite an impressive place, showcasing beautiful exhibition pieces from various periods along with remarkable exhibits.

Another stop was the obligatory visit to Tokyo Tower, the monument that measures 332.9 m from its base to the tip of its antenna, resembling the scaffolding of Paris. But still, it's 2.9 m taller. With the top tour, we reached the highest platform, which my wobbly knees can attest to. The view was clear, and we could fully enjoy the panoramic perspective.

After this experience, hunger kicked in, and we treated ourselves to a hearty ramen soup with various extras without worrying about the impending food coma.
We rounded off the day with a very, very long afternoon nap.
