I visited the park at Shinjuku, which does have an admission fee but is really beautiful and worth it. Right in the city, near the world's busiest train station, you can find plenty of greenery and a quiet place.
I also visited the much more distant Inokashira Park. It offered beautiful scenery in rainy weather. Additionally, the famous Ghibli Museum was located directly in the park. Unfortunately, it is always sold out.
On another day, I went to the Nature and Technology Museum at Ueno Park. It had many different levels and themes. Many animals and dinosaurs were displayed, as well as plants and stones. It dealt with the evolutionary history of humans and other animals. One level focused particularly on the technology for detecting and assessing earthquakes. There was definitely a lot to see and discover. However, I didn't want to take pictures of everything, so I only took a picture of the whale waiting at the exit.
