The city is known for its numerous historic buildings and the Toki no Kane tower, which is said to be 400 years old and has a bell that marks the time. There are so many temples and shrines that I lost track of where I actually was and which is which. Sooner or later, you encounter streets lined with shops one after the other, including alleys primarily selling sweets. I also tried the famous Imokai there. This is a steamed dumpling filled with sweet potato and red beans. Of course, there was also a delicious lunch, a bowl of rice topped with chicken and egg. It was served with plums pickled in vinegar or something, an interesting taste.
