Masai Mara - The Great Wildlife Viewing

The Maasai Mara, the jewel among Kenya's national parks, treats us to top-notch wildlife sightings during our safaris. Lions, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, zebras, jackals, eagles, vultures, warthogs, ostriches, antelopes, and gazelles of all kinds, giraffes, meerkats, and so on... Only the leopard remains hidden from us, but David, our guide, says it only shows up when it wants to be seen :) At the Indian-style Muthu Keekorok Lodge, we come close to the animals during our evening drink at the hippopotamus pool - even olfactorily. The animals also come quite close to us, for at night they leave the pool and wander across the grounds, not without some risk. After two wonderful days and nights, we bid farewell to David in Nairobi (on the drive, we also examined together the alternatives of Kenyan wildlife transportation) and made our way by train from Nairobi to Mombasa (of course, accompanied by hundreds of elephants through several national parks).
