A visit to Karin Blixen's house, the author of Out of Africa, provides an insight into her life as a coffee farmer. The house is located in a suburb called Karen near Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. It was Blixen's residence until 1931, now a museum but also a very romantic venue for weddings.

The Lake Naivasha is located in the East African Rift, it is a freshwater lake and highly alkaline. Here you can find pelicans, fish eagles, cormorants, hippos, giraffes, and blue monkeys.

Our journey took place in 2010; by 2016, the water level of the lake had risen by more than 2m, resulting in significant flooding. A large part of this is attributed to climate change. The same applies to the overgrowth of water hyacinths, leading to an increase in nitrate and phosphate levels.

“Love knows no boundaries.” The mating of lions occurs up to 100 times a day, with roaring, growling, biting, and both parties demonstrating significant effort until exhaustion. Afterward, the lioness lies in the sun for 15-20 minutes to help the sperm distribute well. She has a gestation period of 4-5 months, and the cubs are nursed for approximately 8 months.

Kenya is the world's third-largest tea producer and the largest tea exporter globally, even ahead of China. While tourism brings in significant foreign exchange, tea exports offer stability with great employment potential.
