Rhinos in Ol Pejeta and Hippos in Naivasha

In the last two days, we had safaris in three different ways: by jeep, on wheels, and on water.

We started with the classic version in Ol Pejeta National Park. This park is known for its rhinos, and we got to see many of them. Additionally, there is a rescue center for chimpanzees (mostly from wildlife trafficking) within the park. Although Kenya is not a natural habitat for our relatives, this location was chosen because the neighboring countries did not provide a safe environment due to civil wars at the time.

The next morning, our journey continued to Lake Naivasha, famous for its hippos and countless birds. But before we explored the lake, we first hopped on our bikes and explored Hell's Gate National Park. There are no lions or elephants here, making it safe for cyclists. Alongside zebras, giraffes, gazelles, and buffalo, we visited a canyon that features hot water due to volcanic activity.

As a reward for our biking tour, we enjoyed a sundowner on the rooftop terrace.

The next morning, we finally got onto the boat. Within two minutes, we spotted our first big mammals in the water. The nocturnal animals were all sleeping in the morning, making them relaxed. You'd rather not encounter them at night ;) Even from the water, we could see zebras and gazelles, as well as numerous birds like pelicans and fish eagles.

Now, our journey continues to our last safari stop: the Masai Mara National Park.
