On a leisurely Monday evening, we traveled from Munich to Abu Dhabi. Our brief stop before heading on to Kenya.
Early in the morning, we landed in Abu Dhabi and first took a 2-hour nap in the hotel bed before heading out for our first sightseeing spot: the Presidential Palace. An impressive building, empty shopping malls, gender-segregated bus rides, and a pleasant 25 degrees.
In the evening, we admired the sunset from the Emirates Towers.
The next day, we visited the oasis city of Al Ain and took a stroll in the beautiful palm garden.
In the evening, we visited the grand mosque in Abu Dhabi. We concluded our last evening with hummus, shawarma, and stuffed grape leaves.
