Safari rally yes or no?😉

Unfortunately, no group was formed, so I had to take a private tour. The departure time was at 4:30. In fact, it ended up being 6:00 because the car was broken. When we finally arrived at the park entrance after about 30 minutes, I was shocked. There were several jeeps with guests who all wanted the same thing. Oh dear, I thought, that might have been a mistake. My driver was a young guy with rally ambitions. He was keen to show me all the animals but drove like a maniac. Especially one muddy spot seemed to give him a lot of joy. He handled it well though. 😂 I saw water buffaloes (they really do get submerged in water up to their horns), various bird species, mongooses, elephants, spotted deer, a bunch of monkeys, and crocodiles. A leopard but from a distance. For lunch, we went to a restaurant by the sea. It was my first time seeing the ocean since I’ve been in Sri Lanka. We had a special experience with a Tusker, which are the large elephants with tusks. He walked by the jeeps and even stuck his trunk into the car (the sides were open). The driver frantically urged me to hand him my backpack. I started to feel a bit uneasy and was relieved that he preferred to reach for the driver instead of me.😀

By evening, I arrived at the accommodation completely exhausted, totally dusty, and dirty. I often feel quite tired here since I don't sleep well at night, probably combined with the heat.
