Leeches for free

After a good breakfast on the beautiful rooftop terrace of the hotel, I started a small hike to Ella Rock. A viewpoint above Ella. And as always with Komoot, it turned a bit more adventurous. A glance at my shoes and oh no, yes, I had actually read somewhere that leeches are on tour here. I quickly brushed them off. Only one had already sucked, but I managed to remove it too. Thankfully, I didn’t have to turn back this time. Upon reaching the top, I had about 5 minutes of good visibility before the fog rolled in. Just barely made it. On the way back, I wasn’t entirely sure how to continue at one point. Suddenly, a mother and daughter from Sri Lanka passed by. They suggested I walk with them. No problem. The people here are incredibly friendly. In the evening, I received a WhatsApp from the hotel offering me a different accommodation for one night. It looked really nice, but it was outside of town. The reason was a lack of staff due to New Year. I then asked if I could stay there for 2 nights as well, which would have worked for me. But that wasn’t possible because it was fully booked on April 15. I suggested that I wouldn’t have breakfast and would pay in advance. That way, they wouldn’t need any more staff for me. They agreed to that. There’s always a solution somehow😏.
