Can I help you, Ma'am?😃
Yesterday morning, the taxi picked me up to take me from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya. I had requested a stop, but he told me that he would treat me to a visit to the Blue Fields tea...

At 7:00, the Tuk Tuk picked me up on time to take me to the Ambewela train station (about 8 km away). At the entrance to the station, there was already a sign indicating that the afternoon train was full. I arrived at the ticket counter at 7:45, but it doesn't open until 8:00. The first tourists were already there as well. I sat obediently on the bench and observed the happenings. When the counter finally opened, I got a second-class ticket just as I wanted. Yeah, mission accomplished. And what does the internet say? Normally, the train journey is from Kandy to Ella, which is longer. Due to the cyclone in November 2025, part of the route is closed. This train ride is a major highlight of a trip to Sri Lanka. I really enjoyed it. The route passes through large tea plantations and goes through the misty highlands; open the window and enjoy. The train doesn't move quickly, and somehow the seat is always swaying.
Today, I got the nicest room so far. Not far from the center, yet quiet and with a good view. I will stay here for 3 days to hike, relax a bit, etc. I will also get to experience the first rain today.
