A lot of rain with power outages

In the last few days, we splashed around a lot in the sea and explored the city a bit.

Otherwise, I did a lot of reading, as there were occasional rains and thunderstorms for a few hours. Simon worked hard to keep our room dry. The gutter was so rusted that water came in.

Meanwhile, the neighbors also carried out the necessary roof repairs.

The side streets are somewhat flooded, and it's a bit of a challenge to navigate through the puddles.

Last night, we enjoyed black tea with ginger and honey by candlelight; it almost had a festive feel to it.

We also indulged in the regional cuisine; at Bojun Hela Agrarian Uppuveli, you can try many small portions for little money. It is state-run and hygiene is monitored.

The restaurant Kochi is highly recommended as well. We particularly enjoyed the curry there. The owner kept bringing us more smaller bowls of delicious items. In the end, we rolled home because we were so full.
