Elm Street Taproom (5 February):
Just arrived in Boston from Munich and went straight to a taproom to be able to try different beers from Massachusetts.
1. Idle Hands - Four Seam (New England IPA) 6.6%
Very typical for the style! (very hazy, fruity, low bitterness, balanced malt-hop ratio)
2. Trillium - Cape Elizabeth (Double IPA) 8.9%
Very hazy, intense taste of Citra hops
3. Cambridge Brewing Co - Charles River Porter (American Porter) 6%
More robust than English Porter, strong roasted malt flavor
4. Proclamation - derivative:Galaxy
Every sip tasted so hoppy that it reminded me of our Holledau. It's also very noticeable that all IPAs are very hazy compared to most IPAs I've had before.
Unfortunately, I'm only spending one day in Boston on Jack's friend's couch.
