After spending another three days at the lodge with the others, I continued my journey alone up the West Coast to Franz Josef.

The first stop was Haast, where I enjoyed the sunset with a bag of chips. After that, it was off to the campsite to sleep. The next morning, I drove all the way to Franz Josef/Fox Glacier. Once there, I took a little hike that unexpectedly led me through a long tunnel. So, off came the shoes and barefoot through it, but unfortunately, I had to backtrack the same way since one side of the tunnel was closed. Once I got to the camp, I cooked as well.

The next morning was finally the day for my parachute jump. Yuhuuu! However, my car wouldn't start, but luckily I was already at the location, so I left it for the time being. Then it was off to the airfield by bus, into the suits, and after a short interview, we boarded the plane. Together with 8 other participants, we ascended to nearly 4000 meters. It was an unforgettable flight up. Then the lights turned green, the hatch opened, and we jumped one by one. I went fourth, crawling to the edge of the plane, head back, and down I went.

Free fall, a fantastic view, an unforgettable feeling, and 45 seconds later the parachute opened. A quick breath and enjoy, we glided down for another 3 minutes and landed on the grass.

Aside from the extreme pressure on my nose, ear, and temple, it was a fantastic, some might say crazy experience.

Grateful!

Diesen Sprung hast Du nun allen Familienmitgliedern voraus! Die nächsten Sprünge gehen mehr in die Weite : Thailand- nach Hause! Achso: das Auto möge auch (an)springen. Nur Bestes wünschen wir.
