Mount Cook/Hooker Valley
Finally done picking cherries, next, I went for a wash and shopping, and then back for a short distance to Mt. Cook. There, I met up with Lilly and Leonie again, with whom I...

The four Frankfurters (Jakob, Bruno, Nick, and Noah) set off for construction work in Queenstown. They got the job through a contact, and since I wanted to work for a few more days, I joined them. Thus, I spent my 19th birthday on the construction site.
The work was exhausting but also really cool and fun for all of us. We built house roofs using wooden beams and boards, a bit like Lego or building blocks. The only problem was our boss, who wasn't very trustworthy and still hasn't paid us to this day. This is why, after 4 days of work, we moved on and now have to chase after the money.
On my birthday, we ate at Furg Burger, supposedly the best burger in New Zealand according to travel guides. For me, it felt a bit overhyped, but it was still a good burger. The four were kind enough to treat me. Afterwards, we had super delicious ice cream on the go and ended the day relaxing by the water.
After work, we often went to Frankton Beach, where we could sunbathe and swim in the water. There was also a shower that we could use, as at our sleeping place (a parking lot where I was technically not allowed to stay) we only had toilets. One evening we also grilled by the lake. On the last night, I got busted and had to pay a $400 fine. It still hurts, especially because the money from the construction work is missing, but there's nothing that can be done about it now.
We then spent the weekend in Queenstown with additional friends. We went out partying, shopping, swimming, and up the mountain where you can get a wonderful view of Queenstown.
