Québec - Saint-Felix-d'Otis
Leaving the big cities – heading inland, that was the plan for today. Our first stop was at the Montmerency Falls.

Today was a 'hiking day'. The Saguenay region offers great opportunities for that. The selection was huge, with routes ranging from one hour to ten hours, and options for easy, medium, or difficult paths.
We chose an easy two-hour tour. After the many steps we took in the last few days, we wanted to take it easy. The Eucher route along the Saguenay Fjord seemed perfect for that.

This is what Komoot considers easy trails!
The 150 meters of elevation gain at a humid 28 degrees were not exactly what we expected, but the view was fantastic and made the climb worthwhile. There were new viewpoints along the way.

The trail was also well-marked, with a sign every 20 meters on a tree. It would have been impossible to get lost 😂. If this is normal, then Canadians would be hopelessly lost in Germany if they relied on signage or markers during hikes.
At the highest point, 120m, there was actually a summit cross.
We came down a bit faster and then headed for food in Saguenay.

The place was disappointing. The region is great for hiking, but the town did not seem worthwhile to us, even though we had a very good meal there.
