Algonquin Park - Day 2

Today was meant to be just a short hike, and we decided on the Whisky Rapids Trail.

Once again, a lovely walk, featuring a beautiful section of the Oxtongue River.

The information in the brochure told us where the trees of the trail originate. Just a hint: the story features two lumberjacks, rapids, and a whisky barrel as the main characters 😂.

You could walk beside and over the river, making for a very varied experience, all under beautiful sunshine. However, the temperature was still 12 degrees.

By now, you can also observe the onset of Indian Summer. And it's amazing. Usually, only one tree out of many starts to change color first, depending on the species. But sometimes it’s just a branch of a tree or only individual leaves.

But you can already sense how beautiful it will look in a few weeks.

In the afternoon, we took a canoe tour on Spring Lake. We even saw turtles and had a lot of fun. One person even dared to jump into the refreshing water to swim.

In the evening, we went to Huntsville, a charming little town with great restaurants.
