Today, we left Ottawa and headed to Algonquin National Park.

Here, we want to enjoy some nature and hiking. And maybe catch a glimpse of a moose in the wild. We're thankful to forgo bears.

Hardly out of the city, the weather turned worse and the temperature dropped.

On the way, we even encountered an Amish vehicle, after a traffic sign had already warned us. They are also present in Canada.

Our hotel is located on the western side of the park. So, we crossed the park completely. We only briefly stopped at the West Gate to pay the park fee. The entrance is free, but if you want to hike and park there, you have to pay.

Then the threatening thunderstorm arrived, and at least the windshield of the car got clean again on the last kilometers (there are still deer tracks on my side).

As always with us, when I book a house by the lake, the weather turns rainy and cold. With an outside temperature of 13 degrees, we will probably skip swimming.

But we got to meet a lake resident:

Lake with otter
Visit in the garden, the Toronto Blue Jays say hello.

And there's a lot happening in the garden.

Another short round around the lake and then we went for dinner. We found another great restaurant in Huntsville.
