Niagara Falls

Today it was once again an early start. The booked tour began at nine o'clock, and before that we had to unload the car and pack everything into the suitcases.

This was the first challenge of the day. The expand function on suitcases is really practical. The weight, well, we had to be surprised. Unfortunately, the luggage scale did not come along.

Then we were off. First to the Skylon Tower with an insane view of the falls.

Although the external elevators are a bit of a challenge for people with a fear of heights, the ride doesn't last long.

With the best weather, we had a fantastic view of the falls.

Finally, we went to the 'Journey behind the Falls'. Equipped with yellow rain ponchos, we stood directly behind and right next to the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. It is truly impressive - and wet and loud.

After that, the tour continued along the Niagara River to the 'Whirlpool'. Here the water suddenly spins counterclockwise due to the strong current. 

And now it got adventurous again. Next was the ride INTO the falls, or rather just before them. But it makes no difference. You simply get wet and loud. And it is absolutely impressive. 

Due to a non-waterproof phone, this is the last photo before we got even closer.

What a great experience!

Unfortunately, now especially the shoes were wet. We hoped they would dry by our flight this evening.

Niagara-on-the-Lake

The town is located on Lake Ontario. Here the Niagara River flows into Lake Ontario.

A lovely little town with a beautiful view of Lake Ontario. In good weather, you can even see Toronto:

After the brief visit, we finally headed back to Toronto. Our flight wasn't until 11:30 PM. We were relieved at the baggage check-in, although we had eight kilograms more than on the outbound flight, but no luggage piece was over 23 kilograms. 

And we were dry as well.

And so it was: Goodbye Canada!
