After an extraordinary multi-course breakfast, we left this really great B+B and set off towards Ottawa.
This time we chose Omega Park as our stopover. A very large wildlife park that you drive through in your own car. Some of the animals can be fed with carrots.
Most animals roam freely through the park. Only bears, wolves, caribou, and some horses have fenced enclosures.
The animals come right up to the cars and demand the carrots. And woe betide you if the window is too far open and you aren't quick enough with the carrot to their mouth 😲. Having a drooling, huge deer head in the car is something else. Good that my compassionate spouse captured the whole thing on video for posterity.
But you learn from it!
We saw many animals and it was a fun experience. Partly a bit wet.
Then we drove through a thunderstorm to Ottawa. Including a temperature drop from 28 to 17 degrees.
As a surprise for the family, we spent the night in Ottawa's (former) jail. Very compact rooms 😂.
A first walk gave us a little glimpse of Ottawa in the evening.
