Porto Empedocle is not only the birthplace of Andrea Camilleri, but it also offers something for the eyes:
Scala dei Turchi - a brilliantly white rock formation in steps along the coast.
On beautiful days, even outside the season, it is a popular excursion spot for everyone, so there are many people; however, this only marginally affects the impressive natural phenomenon, and if one can be as patient as Cindy, there are moments when the view through the lens is clear.
Back at the camper at the beach parking lot, there was a spectacle that one would not expect from Italian campers: 4 large campers marching in a row, each driver with a CB radio - NOT a mobile phone!! - to coordinate the approach.
Formation after several maneuvers in a rectangle as a caravan with tables and chairs in between. This is going to be a blast!
The grills and the beatbox to the beach and the party can begin - and promptly at 6:00 PM, the spectacle is over, and organized departure is once again coordinated via CB radio.
