First things first: it will be quiet - very quiet, calm, relaxed, and again completely different from what was planned.
Continuing our journey along the southern coast, because - let's remember - Cindy and Bert want to go to Syracuse and also up to Etna and Taormina.
Licata is on the way, but even tough campers sometimes need relaxation and luxury with a shower, tap water, and power from the socket, so we're heading to Tonino's campsite, 'gli oleandri' in Licata.
At first glance, it's very clean, functional, and let's just say... visually not very elaborate. But that's fine, we're only staying for 2-3 days.
But this place has a magic, a charm that envelops us, lovingly lulls us, and captivates like a sugar cocoon - and everyone greets us like friends, long-missed and found again. Strange... it has that festival atmosphere and community vibe that everyone over 45 knows, reminiscent of Wacken, Rock am Ring, and Fusion. Hotel California indeed.
And what does Edith Piaf have to do with it?
Well, she is the sweet dog lady of Maria, a Swedish blacksmith from Lapland, who has been here since November and has made a brilliant invention: https://axelsweden.se/
Okay, you don't necessarily have to carry a rifle; the hook also holds the camera 😇
And then there are Ruth, Kerstin, the French music duo twinshox, and many other fellow residents.
In short: from 2-3 days it turned into a week, then another 3 days, then it was Easter and total chaos, then May 1st.
And Cindy and Bert really had to leave because they had appointments now...
But next year, we'll be back with Tonino, Kerstin, Maria, Ruth, Edith Piaf, the cats, the whole crew.
