Hello dear friends, this morning I moved in with Harly and his wife Sandra. It was a bit difficult for me, as I enjoyed being with Alfonso and Merry. Well, let's see how this goes. The two of them are also very nice.

At 1 PM, my booked excursion began. I immediately made friends with Monik from Australia. I was in a bus with English, American, New Zealander, and Australian people, both female and male ;). It's quite nice when you only speak limited English. After an hour, we arrived at the place where the quads were. The guide was super nice and explained everything to us, including how the quad works and what we need to pay attention to. Unfortunately, I didn't understand anything due to language deficits :) It could only be booked in English or Spanish. So, I had to choose between the plague and cholera. I decided on the former. I'm quite a clever little guy, I will manage it. And that's how it was, it was exactly my thing with the quad. I watched carefully and then off I went. What no one told me was that you end up looking like a red pig from the red earth. It was so dusty. But definitely better than red mud. When we returned with the quad, we were blasted with a high-pressure cleaner, and then we continued by bus to the salt flats. In between, we made a quick stop for chocolate. There was chocolate made with the very salt from the terraces we then visited. I had my concerns because the sun was starting to set. And it sets really quickly here. It turned out to be a perfect timing, as we were able to use the remaining daylight to explore the terraces and take photos. It was overwhelming, all those terraces made of salt that were still harvested by hand.

The return trip took about 1.5 hours, and then we were back in Cusco. I said goodbye to Monik; it was a beautiful day even with the language barrier. We both found ways to help each other, and I realized that I could speak more Spanish than English if it’s spoken slowly.

Tomorrow is a day for resting; I might go to the mall just to see what it's like here :)
