Hello my dear ones, I wanted to check in once again. I am now home and the usual madness has returned.
My return travel day. I woke up early, finished packing my suitcase. I had asked Jorge, my landlord, if I could leave my suitcase for a bit longer. My flight was not until 6:40 PM. When I went outside, Jorge was also in the kitchen. He asked me what I wanted to do today. I originally planned to go to the mall. Yes, even in Lima, there is such a thing. It would have just been a waste of time. I didn’t want to buy anything, nor could I have fit anything else in my suitcase ;). Then he asked if I’d like to go to the hairdresser. I must have looked shocked. It can come across really wrong :)). He explained to me that he has a hair salon and that I should just relax and take care of myself…..no objections, I agreed. He ordered a taxi, and I didn't even have to pay for it, and then I was taken to the salon. A young man was already waiting outside for me and brought me to the salon. It was done, wash, color, cut. It was really pleasant. Great idea from Jorge, even if not entirely selfless ;) but it was cool. I actually wanted to give him a not-so-good review because it was quite dirty there and there was also mold in the room. But he had put in so much effort and was incredibly friendly, so I just couldn’t do it. There are people who say I am too kind-hearted. That may be true, but I felt it was good.
I was back by 2:00 PM. Collected my suitcase, said goodbye, ordered an Uber, and off to the airport. It was good that I arrived so early. I stood there for 2 hours to check in my suitcase. I had never experienced such slow and relaxed service before. I admit, I was a bit annoyed. But I still had vacation, so I tried to stay relaxed.
Checked in my suitcase, then onto security. The airport was newly constructed. Wonderful, I didn’t need to unpack anything, could take my water bottle with me, the Peruvians were really swift. Fantastic.
Then off to Bogotá, on that flight, there was nothing. You had to pay for everything. And the flight lasted 3.5 hours.
From Bogotá, on to Paris. The Paris airport was so beautiful and welcoming. I was thrilled. I was also really impressed with Air France. At the airport, I made friends with Laura, a Colombian who lives in Berlin. We ended up flying together.
And now I’m back here. My loved ones picked me up.
This time, I really looked forward to being home. I think after 4 trips to Peru, I’m done with the country. It’s just the Amazon left. Wonderful country, I can only recommend it to everyone. This time, I only booked the flight. Was that a good idea? Financially, definitely. But you had to think about where you wanted to go and when. GetYourGuide was really helpful and I also explored a lot with Komoot on my own. All in all, it was just as good as it was.
Now I will say goodbye, thank you for reading so diligently and for being with me. Sending you all hugs, until next time.
