Day 11 Cusco

So my dear ones, today I was only in Cusco. I have been invited to my godchild's birthday this evening. Sean and his mother Giovanna are Peruvians, but they live in Berlin. As fate would have it, they are also currently in Cusco. And to not be totally alone, I only explored the city of Cusco. Also, I need to acclimatize a bit, otherwise I might have issues with the altitude again.

First, I visited the food market. The refrigeration for the meat always fascinates me :)

Afterwards, I headed towards the center to the souvenir market. It's always a bit difficult for me since I don't really enjoy it. Everyone should be happy, but what are they actually happy about, and in the end, it’s also quite expensive. But well, I found something, and when in doubt, a llama keychain will always do. They are super cute.

For my granddaughter, I bought a crocheted doll. I haggled ruthlessly with the lady, but we both had so much fun together that she gifted me a llama pen when I was leaving. I was so thrilled :)

Then back to the accommodation, whipped up something to eat, wrote my blog, then showered and somehow freshened up (I only have hiking clothes with me) and off I go. I want to be in the center a bit earlier, that's where the party is happening. And what can I say, I am really looking forward to tomorrow :))
