Palamos, Sète, Gulf of Roses, Gulf of Lion
Even before our arrival in Palamós, our Windy App predicted an optimal crossing to Sète—little wind, swell up to 20 cm, sunny skies. We had planned to sail from Palamós to Port...

On May 1, 2025, we were able to check in early at the harbor in Sète.
While my first officer took care of the formalities, I held the position on our Gustav. Our follower was visibly nervous, circling around his boat, and after nothing moved on our end, he approached me directly and asked when we would set sail.
We are staying!
The shock that this caused him was immediately recognizable, with a boat behind him, us in front, and although the wind wasn't unfavorable, it seemed to be a problem for him.
After another half hour, his companions helped him, and he was able to leave his prison.
In the meantime, my first officer had also been successful, and we officially had a spot in the harbor. We wanted to head there.
Shock, the starter batteries were dead. During troubleshooting, it quickly became apparent that the already vacant starter battery of the unit had blown the safety for maintaining the charge for the 3 batteries. Once this issue was resolved, the batteries were charged for 1 hour and could then resume operation.
After we had brought Gustav to the docking place, we saddled our bikes and ascended Mont Saint-Clair, in the truest sense of the word.
We were rewarded with a fantastic view over the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea and the Etang de Thau.
Via Place du Pouffre, a stop at La Cave à Manger, tapas and beer, we returned to the boat.
