Etang de Thau, Marseillan

Today, the itinerary included a tour around the Etang de Thau, with our first destination being Marseillan.

Our destination was set to “La Maison Noilly Prat.” There, we were expecting a special type of vermouth. Riding along the coast on a beautifully developed bike path, we shared the lane with walkers and cyclists, while whole families with children took advantage of the pleasant but seasonally mild weather for an outing. Sunday was anticipated to be quite rainy, prompting everyone to make the most of the extended weekend.

Of course, we stocked up on all sorts of treats at Noilly Prat, including delicious spices. My first officer corrected me, as it turned out to be tea.

The town center of Marseillan features the harbor, lined with all sorts of eateries and souvenir shops, charming but not overcrowded. Nearby, music could be heard, prompting us to visit this celebration as well. At many stands, local specialties were available, with the air filled with the fragrance of countless spices from southern France.

However, the special delicacy of the Etang de Thau is the oysters, so we had to wait a little longer to satisfy our hunger.

Though with a slight feeling of unease:))
