17.-19.01.26: Jakarta
After a very long and tiring journey, we finally arrived in Jakarta on January 17th. The city is quite different from Malaysian cities: louder, busier, more fragrant, and livelier. Maxie is reminded of other Southeast Asian cities. There are countless motorbikes, many street stalls, and small Warungs. These are often very tiny restaurants that specialize in 1-3 dishes, which are usually very affordable and delicious. It is generally inexpensive: a meal at Warungs or street stalls often costs only 1-2 Euros.
In the evening, Maxie experienced a little shock: while strolling through the neighboring street with many food stalls, we discovered an exceptional barbecue, and that three times...see photos!
On the second day, we walked around Jakarta and visited, among other places, Chinatown. And the next day, we were already on the move again…
