No plan was the plan
coffee with a view

Today we had to leave our Airbnb and continue towards El Amparo, where our next Airbnb was waiting for us. The only problem was that we couldn't check in until 4 PM, so we suddenly had quite a bit of time.
So we first aimed for the Cinnamon Atelier. Even the name sounded like a very good decision. I already love the name... I have a bit of an obsession with cinnamon 😇
On the drive north, we passed beautiful mountain landscapes and in between, we could even briefly catch a glimpse of Teide, the highest mountain in Spain and one of the largest volcanoes in the world. Even though we only saw this massive volcano briefly from the car, it was somehow immediately impressive.
Upon arriving at the Cinnamon Atelier, we first treated ourselves to coffee and of course, cinnamon rolls. One with pistachio and one with lemon cream. To be honest, both were at about the level of very nice... although they looked a bit squished, they were really good.
After a little photo session on the promenade, we continued with more café con leche in hand.
We still had time until check-in, so we made a detour to the Mariposario del Drago, a butterfly park full of tropical plants and free-flying butterflies that sometimes just fly right in front of your face. Right next to it is the Parque del Drago, which is especially known for its famous dragon tree. This tree is said to be several hundred years old and is considered one of the landmarks of Tenerife. Overall, the whole park felt a bit like a mix of botanical garden and mini jungle.
When we finally arrived at the Airbnb, we first had to take a moment to process the view. Mountains, sea view, and that light just before sunset. Really absurdly beautiful.
In the meantime, we directly searched for a restaurant and quickly decided on Casa del Drago, which we had noticed from the park earlier. The relaxed atmosphere, warm light, and chill piano music somehow convinced us right away.
The restaurant itself is known for its Canarian cuisine and the location with a view of the famous dragon tree makes it even more special. Exactly the kind of restaurant where you end up staying longer than you originally planned.
Back at the Airbnb, we then watched the sunset with our laptop and wine.
