Konstanz and Lake Constance Wine
Konstanz

Actually, we had a pretty simple plan: to take the boat out on Lake Constance and just chill there. My girlfriend has her boat docked in Altenrhein, so it sounded like a relaxing day on the lake without any major surprises.
We were aware that on this very day, the airshow for the 100th anniversary of Altenrhein Airport was taking place. The airport celebrated its anniversary with a big airshow from August 28 to 30, and the emotional highlight was one of the last performances of the legendary Patrouille Suisse. For those unfamiliar: This is the aerobatics team of the Swiss Air Force, which zooms through the air in tight formation, at high speed and with significant G-force using six F-5 Tigers. So there’s definitely a reason why so many people were out that day.
However, we didn’t think the influx would be THIS huge. Even the highway was quite busy when we departed. Luckily, we got off one exit earlier, but we still found ourselves comfortably stuck in traffic, going nowhere fast.
So we quickly changed our plans and headed to my girlfriend's sister, who lives by Buchberg. The plan: just to get on the boat a bit later when the traffic has died down. Conveniently, she had already invited a few relatives and friends to watch the airshow with the Patrouille Suisse together.
What started as a spontaneous, actually even forced change of plans turned out to be a really cool time in the end. Equipped with wine and snacks, we relaxed and enjoyed the entire airshow from Buchberg, without crowds, parking hassles, and with the best view.
In the evening, we finally managed to get the boat out. We went out and watched the sundowner on the lake.
