Shortly after 2:30 PM, we will be picked up by a bus at the Golden Mile Tower in Singapore. We travel first to the border crossing at the Johor Strait and will need to disembark and go through a security check. After that, we will board the bus again and travel a short distance to a larger parking lot where we will switch buses. According to the bus provider, this is a luxury bus with massage seats, entertainment like on an airplane, and a meal. From my perspective, the meal quality was below average, but Andreas enjoyed it. The entertainment program also had significant room for improvement, as the screen was heavily pixelated. After two short breaks, we arrived in Kuala Lumpur around 10:30 PM at the central bus terminal. The trip cost about 65

Euros per person; there are also cheaper providers with buses without 'luxury features'.

Using public transportation, we then went to our apartment in a high-rise building on the 22nd floor. From there, we had a great view of the Petronas Towers and the

KL Tower, which greatly resembles the Berlin TV Tower.

The next morning, we walked to the Petronas Towers; we have tickets for a tour at 11:30 AM. Kuala Lumpur is not as clean and perfectly organized as Singapore, but here most car and scooter drivers follow traffic rules (unlike in Indonesia).

During the tower visit, you can view the sky bridge connecting the two towers at 170 m height and

then go to the 86th floor. Here, there is also a small exhibition about the construction of the twin towers.

Afterward, we have lunch at the Hard Rock Café KL and then briefly return to our apartment. From there, we start out together; Andreas goes to a concert in KL, while I head to the National Museum, Muzeum Negara, of Malaysia. The museum is not particularly spectacular; there were also numerous school classes visiting.

After that, I walked back to the city center, passing by a massive mosque complex that is currently under restoration.

At KLCC, Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, there is a nice park leading to the Petronas Towers, which are beautifully illuminated at night. There are also the obligatory

shopping centers with luxury brands.

On the way back to the apartment, I try to order a vegetarian dish at McDonald's, but it ends up being rice with ketchup. Around 11:45 PM, Andreas returns from the concert.

It will be a short night since we have to get up at 6:00 AM to arrive on time at KL International Airport (KLIA), as our flight is at 10:15 AM. Unfortunately, there is a race taking place in KL early in the morning, which means our Grab driver cannot find the meeting point, and we try to arrange another meeting location by phone. Ultimately, we find each other and arrive on time at the airport around 8:00 AM. The airport is about 50 km outside of KL.

The return flight with Emirates goes smoothly, and we conclude our Southeast Asia trip at 7:00 PM in Frankfurt. From there, we drive home.
