The first night in the Messi accommodation is over.

We take Lyft to Dallas Downtown and have breakfast at Starbucks. Our driver is from Kenya, and we chat during the half-hour ride about the lifestyle in the USA, Africa, and Europe. In two years, he will return to Nairobi after living in the USA for 30 years.

After breakfast, we first walk to the Giant Eye, where the artist has immortalized his own iris. Then we continue to the John F. Kennedy Memorial and then to the museum, which focuses on the assassination of the then US President on November 22, 1963, the Sixth Floor Museum; this is located on the 6th floor of the building from which the assassin shot. The exhibition is really well presented.

Next, we visit the largest bronze artwork in the world, a cattle herd with two cowboys - very impressive. Next to it is a historic cemetery. We also discover a replica of a hut from the first white settlers in the present city area.

Since it is raining and many attractions are outside the city center, we decide to visit another museum. I don't want to subject Andreas to the Museum of Arts, so we go to the Museum of Illusions instead. Museums of this kind exist in several cities, and my expectations were not very high. However, the entrance fee of 27 dollars plus tax makes it worth it. We were explained most of the optical illusions, and they were helpful during photography.

There was no time for another museum afterward; we grab some drinks at 7-Eleven, wander a bit through the city center, and then head to the concert arena. Andreas is attending a Hatsune Miku concert again today, and there were issues with downloading the tickets. He gets help at the ticket office, and I take a closer look at the concert audience: many visitors are dressed as Hatsune Miku and other manga characters, with turquoise being the predominant color. Overall, there is a very peaceful and friendly atmosphere.

Andreas no longer needs my assistance; we clarify how he will find his way back to the accommodation after the concert, and I take a Lyft taxi back to the truly antisocial apartment.

I spend the evening reading and writing. In Dallas, we noticed very cheeky black birds with an insistent cry: they are Great-tailed Grackles.

Tomorrow we leave Dallas heading to Austin.
