a quiet little spot

After our 3-day stop at the Skaftafell Nature Reserve, we will spend a few days in the area around Kirkjubæjarklaustur. We were 'driven' here by the current and upcoming weather.

After a night in the car and a good night in the storm tent, it should be a bit quieter for 2 nights in four solid walls.

We booked a cottage through booking.com at the associated Laki Hotel, and upon arrival, the young lady at the reception kindly offered us a complimentary upgrade to stay in the hotel due to the impending weather. We accepted and moved with our luggage into a nice room with a bathtub (!) and a terrace view of small, grass-covered houses.

We spent the rest of the day 'chilling,' planning, and enjoying a bath.
