Fun Facts about the Mekong Delta:

Shopping with a twist: Here, you take a boat to the floating market instead of going to the supermarket. Unfortunately, I don't see it because we're just on a day trip.

Fish galore: There are more fish here than mobile reception. The most impressive one is grilled and served during lunch in front of a fellow traveler who definitely doesn't want 'the thing he's eating to look back at him.' It's a bit funny.

Coconut paradise: There are so many coconut palms here, this must be the coconut capital of Vietnam. We have a coconut candy workshop, which is more of a watching, eating, and 'please buy' event.

Animal commune: There are tons of different species here, some are preserved in alcohol and sold at a high price. I try a snake liquor, it tastes a bit scary, but I’m not blind afterward, which I consider a success.

Eco-tour not so eco: The tours here advertise sustainability, but almost all motorboats take the same route through narrow waterways. It's logical yet disappointing at the same time.

This place has so much flair, but in one day, it’s only vaguely tangible. I like it here, even though our tour guide wasn’t great.

In the evening, we celebrate as a group in the gray-bright evening romance of a Southeast Asian rooftop bar for our farewell night. It’s loud, fun, relaxed, and easygoing. It was a lovely time, thanks to everyone!
