Imperial Whispers in Huế
We are traveling back from Ninh Binh to Hanoi, as our time in the north is coming to an end. One last ride between overpriced coconut coffee and the next 'handmade' souvenir...

Early morning in Huế and already the vibrating heat on the asphalt: Departure! Engine rumbling. Road dust. Light glinting on the paint.
The city is slowly disappearing; there are: jungle greens, winding roads, and still honking.
Stop at the waterfall: rock pools, dragonfly flights, stone slides. Refreshment amidst frying smells and children's laughter. Drops on skin that cool a little.
Continuing towards the coastal air, first sight of the sea: Lăng Cô. Wave hopping, wide views, softness, then grilled seafood on plastic plates, salty scents. Blue instead of green.
Playing with curves over the Hai-Van Pass. Engine rumbling beneath me and panorama in front. A few wisps of clouds, view and silence for a few seconds above. Shadows cast on slopes.
Departure to Đà Nẵng. A glance to the side - the sea is still there. Additionally, waves of concrete and noise. Keep the phone firmly in hand while crossing the Dragon Bridge. Pause with salty coffee. My heart honks along a bit.
And then lanterns everywhere. Bright during the day and shimmering at night. Crowds of people on the bridge over the river, a brief acclimatization to the magic of the city and then: Hello Hội An, how beautiful you are?
