We wanted to treat ourselves to a nicer hotel with an infinity pool here, where we could afford a bit more. The price was surprisingly low; we paid the same for our first hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, and that was a small room without a window in a shabby building 😅

Now we had this chic room with a sea view, this resort, and we treated ourselves to a breakfast buffet to really fill ourselves up in the morning. There was a small steam room and sauna, and many pools.

The hotel was absolutely not fully booked; we saw more staff than guests, which felt quite strange. I would normally never visit such huge hotel complexes; I don’t feel fancy enough for that, and I’m not entirely sure what I think about it. However, the 3 days there were very nice; we could really relax and take our time. Whenever we went out, everyone was eager to get us a taxi, no matter how short the distance was or whether we wanted to walk leisurely. On the way there, I already disappointed the taxi driver, who thought he could take us to the hotel. We did manage to find a vegan restaurant and enjoyed good food there. Later, we discovered a small local place where the workers eat lunch and found the food fantastic. We wanted to go back there in the evening, and the Grab driver laughed at us for wanting to eat there. When we arrived, he arranged with the owners to call him to pick us up, but we were able to convince him that we wanted to take a walk on the way back. All in all, there was a lingering feeling of too much service; I found the experience very interesting.

On the last day, we spent more time in the center of Mui Ne at a homestay. It was very sweet, and we could sample food and drinks at the market and surrounding areas. We also visited the red dunes and the Fairy Stream, which left me with a feeling of having truly been in Mui Ne. There, you usually find many people engaged in water sports on the beach, surfing of all kinds, often for extended periods. I can well imagine that kite surfing would be a lot of fun there; perhaps I'll do that another time.

And then my journey began alone; Johannes traveled back, and my trip continued to Nha Trang.
