From Ho Chi Minh City, we booked a ferry online to Con Dao, and the hostel owner helped us reserve a bus to the ferry terminal. The bus ride was quite exciting because we booked the bus and the ferry separately, but luckily we received confirmation for the ferry a few hours before. We had to go to Tran De, but on our way there, in Soc Trang, we were waved out of the bus. We got off and tried to indicate that we wanted to go to Tran De, and the people nodded. So we got off and basically transferred directly into a smaller shuttle. This shuttle dropped us off around 4 AM somewhere, but not at the ferry terminal. We considered walking to a point where we thought the ferry would dock, but we asked some people who were wandering around and eyeing us how we should get there. With the little possible communication through gestures and a translator, of course 😄
They offered us a place to wait and said they would take us to the ferry a few hours later, so we thought,
