After a nice breakfast served by our always friendly host Bart, we were ready for our first activity of the day. Bart has a friend who owns a Husky kennel with 15 dogs and often welcomes guests staying at Villa Fregn. Around 9:30, we arrived at Christian and Rachel's place where we received a warm welcome. Christian first gave us a half-hour explanation and we also got to meet all the dogs. Then we set off with Rachel for a two-hour walk with 3 of these rascals. We had to put on a kind of harness to keep the dogs under control. You can't walk with these kinds of dogs like you would with a regular dog because they always want to work and you can feel that as soon as they are leashed. Occasionally, you have to hold them back, or they would pull you along. We started chatting with Rachel and before we knew it, two hours had already passed. When we arrived back at the kennel, we were offered some hotdogs and spent another hour comfortably around the fire before we had to say goodbye since we wanted to go to the Swedish side of Fulufjället National Park. That was still quite an hour's drive because we couldn’t take the shortest route, as Bart had warned us. Several of his guests had damaged their tires there in recent days because the roadwork was quite intense.

Around 4 PM, we arrived, and most people had started to leave, allowing us to begin our walk peacefully. The goal here was to visit the highest waterfall in Sweden as well as the oldest tree in the world, The Old Tjikko. To reach the tree, we had to do a substantial climb as it stands at the very top of the mountain. After half an hour of climbing, we arrived, and the tree itself isn't much to look at, but its age lies in the root system, which is apparently over 9500 years old. The tree you see today is estimated to be around 400 years old.

We descended via a rocky path to the bottom of the waterfall and took some photos before returning to the car via a nicely built wooden path. Now we had to drive for another couple of hours to Mora, where we will be staying overnight. Since we hadn't eaten much all day, we drove to the local MAX after checking in, which is a Swedish fast-food chain competing with McDonald's, and we found the burgers to be tastier. We don't know yet what we will do tomorrow; we'll brainstorm about that this evening. But first, a nice shower and then off to bed because it was quite cold today. Goodnight.
