In 1985, the site where the Quadriburgus of Oberranna was found was declared a listed building. The inn that stood above the north tower at that time was no longer in use and the building had already begun to decay. In 2007, the ruined building was finally demolished. Until 2016, the area was an overgrown pile of rubble. The private owners agreed to a land swap in 2018. The municipality of Engelhartszell is now the owner of the property. A protective structure with a floor area of around 1000 m² now protects the entire archaeological area. The construction was planned and implemented in such a way that no intervention in the Roman substance was necessary. A floating walkway leads over the site. Once on the balcony, you can overlook the entire Roman building.
