The National Museum and the Royal Residence

Day 2 in Luang Prabang, we are visiting the royal residence, which was converted into the National Museum after the revolution and the end of the royal era.

The museum, with the exception of the temple, gives a rather neglected impression in many areas. The royal barges and the former tennis court are in a deplorable state. This impression immediately dissolves as we enter the former royal palace.

Entry is only allowed without shoes! We are the first visitors after the lunch break. Not only do we wonder during the tour where our fellow visitors have gone, given the number of visitors.

Unfortunately, no photos are allowed in the palace itself, which I could post here. Outside, however, there are plenty - and extensively. This seems to be an Asian virus. Highly contagious!
