We rent a scooter in Luang Prabang again and take a trip to the Kuang Si Waterfalls, which are 30 kilometers away. The road is in terrible condition. I miss a lot of the scenery because I have to constantly watch out for potholes.
The ride ends at a huge parking lot: countless scooters and minivans for tourists. From here, everything is well organized: ticket purchase and transfers in small groups to the waterfalls, mostly using electric vehicles!
The carefully laid paths lead through a rehabilitation enclosure for black bears to the waterfalls at several levels, where crowds of tourists gather and jostle for the best spot for a photo.
On the plateau above the waterfalls, accessible by a steel staircase with several hundred steps, there is an opportunity for swimming. A viewing platform offers a wonderful view.
