Part 1 Lindis 🍒
It's been a while since I've updated through a blog post. That's why it's time to summarize the last exciting weeks. Together with TJ, Niklas, and Noah, I arrived at the cherry...

The last week at camp was characterized by many off days, as the cherry season is coming to an end. We did a lot, celebrated, and enjoyed the spectacular weather.
Together in a large group, we climbed 'Roys Peak'. At 2:40 we started from the foot of the mountain all the way to the top at 1567 meters. After a strenuous 2 1/2 hours, we reached the top at 5 o'clock. We changed clothes as ours were completely soaked from the intense ascent. After that, we waited for another hour for the sunrise, which did not disappoint us and showed us that it was worth it once again. From the top, there was a beautiful view over the landscape and Wanaka. The descent was completed in about 2 hours.
On the evenings before our days off, we played soccer several times, Fenster (a drinking game similar to bus driver), and sat together for a long time in large groups. Otherwise, there was a lot of cooking, playing, and just talking, so the atmosphere at camp was excellent despite the many free days.
Other highlights were the fantastic starry sky with the Milky Way, as well as the Northern Lights, which, however, only looked breathtaking on camera, as the reality was different. And of course, we are in New Zealand after all, every absolutely normal sunset.
On another free, sunny day, we held a football tennis tournament with 8 people on a school field 10 minutes away from camp. In pairs, we played round-robin, then semifinals 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3 as best of 3 games. After that, we played for third place and the final, also as best of 3 games. Together with Jannes, I finished second after the league phase, so we played against third place for a chance to enter the final. We won that game 2:0 and faced Noah and TJ in the final after the second semifinal match. After taking the lead 1:0, the two equalized, but we managed to prevail in the decisive third set and crowned ourselves the champions of football tennis. Niklas and Jakob secured third place after the match against Niklas and Nick. Everyone had a lot of fun, and that was ultimately the main thing.
Oh, and I almost forgot, after TJ and I got fired as bucket boys for driving too fast, we had to pick cherries again. For me, however, this was no problem; on my second to last day, I filled 61 buckets, which meant a bonus of $170. I then let the last day go by and was glad when it was all over.
