Culture shock number two -> Vietnam, Hanoi
Wow, where have we landed? That was the first thought when our driver dropped us off in the dark in the middle of the old town alley. When we got out, I almost stepped on a bowl...

Let's go off the beaten tourist path to Halong Bay. The bus was supposed to pick us up from our hostel at 13:15, umm yes, 13:15 turned into 14:45. We're in Vietnam, so it's no problem for us, at least we could watch a pig hanging over a scooter and then suddenly being cut into pieces on the table. :) When we arrived at Halong Bay, our first thought was, nice sh*t, it's raining and it's freezing cold. Great conditions for a boat tour through the islands. As expected, it rained the next morning too. Well, never mind, we're still excited about the trip, the boat is covered. :) We passed by about 2000 small islands on our way to Halong Bay. From there, we took a 1.5-hour kayak ride (without accident, we're professionals) through small caves. For lunch, we got back on the boat and shared the table with 2 very heavy drinking Russians who first enjoyed a bottle of red wine, followed by about 30 cans of beer. We would probably have crawled back to the hotel :D. Then we went to Monkey Island, where the monkeys were already waiting for us. Thank God the sun is shining again here. :) There's a nice viewpoint there, which we climbed up first. Fearlessly, we climbed the rocks without safety but... don't worry, everything was safe.... :D The view was definitely worth it! After a feeble attempt by the monkeys to steal our things, we passed by a floating village. It's crazy to see how some people live. Despite the initially bad weather, it was a great trip. :)
