Today we set course for our primary tour destination - Passau. Since we made good progress overall, despite the unplanned detour to Königssee, we now have two extra days. We plan to follow the Danube Cycle Path for a bit. But more on that later. Our route today took us along the Inn for kilometers, with multiple border crossings as it forms the border between Germany and Austria in this area. It got pretty boring after a while. I prefer a few little ascents and descents sprinkled in. The route was mostly on well-traveled gravel, which made it quite dusty. The dust also made our chains drier and noisier. Fortunately, in Schärding, a Toyota mechanic who happened to be taking a break there helped us out with a few drops of oil to make our chains smooth again. It was warm again and the weather was getting increasingly cloudy, with thunderstorms forecasted for the afternoon. In the end, it was just a light summer rain, which we waited out during our lunch break in a shelter. Despite that, we arrived in Passau relatively early.
