Hello dear friends!
Our day started with a few tasks that we absolutely had to complete:
Doing laundry and grocery shopping.
There was a laundromat nearby, so we started there and then went shopping. After shopping, we could already fold the laundry and take it with us.
Now we continued towards Orlando.
We definitely wanted to see a real 1/4 mile race here in America, and according to our research, such an event was taking place today.
On the way, we had lunch at Food Panda and reached the racetrack around 3 PM.
This was just perfect! The gates opened at 2 PM, and the first vehicles began racing down the track at 3:30 PM!
We were even allowed to stay overnight on the premises and only had to buy admission tickets for the next day (USD 10.-/person).
Engines roared all over the area, and there was plenty of action on the track! Some vehicles were so powerful that they raced on their rear wheels and occasionally they maintained this until the finish line!
Often after a very impressive start, things ended because something broke, and the remaining 1/4 mile was slowly completed with great effort.
However, the track had to be prepared approximately every hour, which took a good hour each time.
The track was completely roughened, re-tarred, and well heated.
At 10 PM, the last race took place, and everyone slowly started packing up. By about 11 PM, we were actually all alone on the premises and also slowly got ready for bed ☺️
That’s it for our day, and we look forward to tomorrow ☺️
See you then!
