Tag 398 - Miami Beach, the last day

A final big hello everyone!

Today was our last day in Florida and there were a few things left to do.

First, we went to a UPS parcel station and asked what the shipping cost would be to send our batteries (from the e-scooters) home.

The lady clicked through the system for a moment and cheerfully said, “Yes, we can definitely do that and it will cost about 500-600 USD.”

Our eyes nearly popped out of our heads and thus our plan was quickly dashed.

We continued to the RV and grabbed the last little things to bring to our room.

Meanwhile, Kevin had already come up with the next plan for our scooters: In the evening, he would disassemble the batteries so we could take them with us easily. Since we were flying business class this time, we were allowed to take two pieces of luggage per person, and fortunately, there was no surcharge for the extra luggage.

After that, we returned the RV.

During the handover, we pointed out about five issues with the RV to the branch manager, to which she repeatedly apologized.

Among other things, the house battery was empty, which meant we regularly needed the generator (extra cost per hour used), water was leaking from the shower, when filling the fresh water tank, it flooded the interior, and so on...

She said we should send an email about the issues when we got home and we had a good chance of a partial refund, which we will definitely try.

By noon, we had finished everything and could enjoy the last hours a bit.

We set out again with the scooters, ate something delicious, enjoyed the beach, and in the evening treated ourselves to a trip to the casino.

It was a really great ending, and we even came out a little ahead ☺️

Back at the hotel, Kevin disassembled the batteries, I finished packing the suitcase, and when everything was truly done, we sat on the balcony once more and enjoyed the cool sea air for the last time.

It’s amazing how quickly the time has passed again…!
